I have had the pleasure of working with Paul Tyrrell over the last seven years. I am the personal assistant to the female principal of the home. Paul and I work particularly well together, playing off each other’s best skills. Paul is a creative person who executes exceptional events for the family, and he makes it all look incredibly easy, although I know it’s not at all.

I have been particularly impressed with the number of different areas for which he is responsible. Not only does Paul have to create flawless family and guest experiences during stays at the home or events we are holding, but he also is a jack of all trades and a Mr. Fix-It, if you will. He has had to learn at a rapid pace the new security, lighting, and AV systems as well as the generator, the phones, the pool, and more. Although we have maintenance staff, at 10 pm when the family is ready to enjoy a movie, but the theater system is not cooperating, Paul will be the first line of defense and must provide troubleshooting expeditiously so that the family can enjoy the movie. I am in awe of how much knowledge he has about this house.

Back to those flawless experiences, Paul always goes above and beyond to make the family and their friends and loved ones feel special. He’s created a system of recording guests’ dietary preferences and other likes in order to surprise and delight them with each subsequent visit. He also really has a vision for each event and tries to create a different experience for each one. We have many repeat guests, and I know Paul strives to make each celebration to feel different than the last. Moreover, he’s particularly skilled in adjusting to the atmosphere needed. We have had at times, extremely informal dinners with just the family enjoying a meal at the pool, but we have also hosted high-profile politicians, celebrities, and ambassadors, whom Paul treats with the utmost discretion and respect.

I find Paul’s demeanor to be very calm, even under the most stressful of situations. Having worked with other house managers who respond to taxing situations with more stress, I find his calmness to be a refreshing trait in a coworker. I know that when I have to deliver information to Paul, such as unexpected guests, for example, Paul will digest this information, thank me for sharing it, and act on it quickly and with professional composure. I appreciate this greatly. I also know that once the information has been processed, I don’t need to ask again. It will be handled.

It is my distinct honor to recommend Mr. Paul Tyrell for a leadership position within your estate operations. Paul is an accomplished Estate Manager, Butler, Sommelier and Equestrian with over 20 years of experience.

I met Paul in 2015 when I interviewed and hired him for the position of Estate Manager for a private estate in Leesburg, VA. I have served as the HR Advisor to the proprietor of the estate after heading up Human Resources at his company for over a decade.

Given the nature of the role, requiring the utmost discretion, the recruitment process was a rigorous one. Paul was, by far, the most impressive of candidates, exceeding our requirements in every aspect. He began his estate management career in England and even drove carriages for the British Royal Family and the Saudi Royal Family in Saudi Arabia.

For the past 7 years, Paul managed all aspects of the estate to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. He supervised the daily operation of a 600-acre estate that includes multiple homes, indoor and outdoor pool, pool house, tennis court, equestrian center, racquetball court, bowling alley, theatre, working farm and garden, and an event facility on property. In addition to the daily operation, Paul successfully planned and coordinated numerous special events including, most recently, a spectacular 800-guest wedding on property. He was certainly tested during the wedding planning phase but calmly and successfully navigated increased supply costs, supply chain issues, Covid-19 compliance and much more.

While Paul has demonstrated, time and time again, an extraordinary ability to execute on his many responsibilities, his greatest contributions are his genuine commitment to providing superior service, his discretion and confidentially, and his calm under pressure demeanor. I am writing in reference to my working relationship with Paul Tyrrell. I worked with Paul at Ayrshire
farm from 2009 until I changed jobs in 2012. I was the Estate Gardener for the farm and Paul was the
Manager of the Horse Department. During my time at Ayrshire Farm Paul and I worked together on a
daily basis. Although his official role was running the horse operations, he wore many hats. He was in
charge of security, as he lived on farm. This also includes emergency situations such as plowing snow and storm damage. Paul was always around and on top of all situations that arose on the farm. Paul was also instrumental in all of the planning and coordination for the many special events, festivals, farm dinners, charity auctions and various other public and private functions that occurred regularly on the farm. Paul is a great manager. He is friendly, professional, responsible and easy to work with. He is extremely internet savvy and resourceful. He has a good eye and good taste and is very organized. I have known Paul Tyrrell for over 8 years and we worked together at Ayrshire Farm at many luncheons,functions and large Gala events that he has managed .Paul is very professional and organized with a keen eye for the smallest of details.Paul also has some basic culinary skills and is willing and able to jump in and help when the occasion arises. Paul and I worked together and successfully put on a six course dinner in a field for 200 people. Paul is a true professional and puts all of his energy in everything he does ,he also has the unique ability in leading a team of people and getting the job done but in an kind and friendly way and keeps everyone motivated even after a hard day .
